It’s lovely to find a place that you feel comfortable at, where you feel welcome and quite at home.
This past weekend, we attended our third event at Domaine Tour Campanets – an elegant, and thoroughly beautiful winery about 20 minutes from Aix-en-Provence and just outside the village of Le Puy-Sainte-Reparade.
If you haven’t ventured out to the Pays d’Aix (the romantic countryside surrounding one of the south’s most iconic towns) it’s an absolute must do… for single travelers, couples, and families alike.
You’ll find impressive wineries that dot the landscape and offer visitors more than just tastings. The yearly event’s program at Domaine Tour Campanets is varied, and honestly, very creative.
Last Friday night, we attended our second outdoor concert at the winery – complete with food trucks (Toast’In) and a to-die-for pastry stand. We went back for two slices of the mascarpone and spéculoos-crusted cake from La Clémentine sur le gâteau (but who’s counting?).
The good news is that we danced off our pâtisseries listening to the jazzy / funky rhythms of the band Interplay. My daughter (who just celebrated her 10th birthday) even got up and grooved to a few songs.
Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean is now a solid family favorite.
This was our second concert at the Domaine. We attended a jazz concert back in August 2024, and this past Christmas my daughter and I went to their adorable Christmas market (in the wine boutique no less!) and then listened to a traditional Provençal storyteller recount tales of Christmas’ past.
With the sun setting behind the winery’s chapel, it was all quite magical. We stayed on for a choir singing festive songs from the region.
What I love about Domaine Tour Campanets is not only their wine (the rosé Bois des Fées is our go-to) but also the warm, welcoming feeling we receive from sommelier Céline Turlan and owner Emmanuelle Baude.
We live quite on the other side of Provence, but I always feel like a part of their small, charming community every visit.
