Greetings dear readers and friends. I’m very happy to report that we have a fantastic giveaway going on today which, truth be told, I’d love to snatch up for myself. I mean, “wine luggage”, who knew? I thought most folks, like me, stuffed their cherished bottles of Burgundies, Bordeaux, and Bandols in plastic sacks, wrapped them in coats & sweaters, stuffed them in their suitcases, and hope & prayed for the best.
Au contraire les amis… au contraire.
It turns out that wine luggage does exist and in fact, it’s pretty dang cool. The company Lazenne has created an aid to wine-enthusiasts the world over called the Wine Check Luggage. It’s lightweight, allowing you to stay under the 23 kg. (50 lb.) airline weight-limit for luggage, and holds 12 bottles of whatever tickles your fancy: wine, champagne, beer, cider, hard liquor, or even olive oil.
There are two types of the Wine Check – one fitting 12 regular Bordeaux-style bottles, and the other fitting 12 larger Champagne or Burgundy-style bottles.
Here’s a quick rundown of how it works. First, you’ve got to snatch up some of the local “libations” during your trip abroad (the fun part!). Next, you pack away your bottles in the Wine Check, which uses Lazenne’s line of bottle protectors to keep your goodies safe & protected. Then you just roll-up to the airport and check your wine luggage in… easy-breezy.
It’s also airline, FAA, and EASA approved. No worrying that you’ll have to just “slip” a few bottles past the agent… or maybe that’s just me.
Lastly, you won’t have to lug your empty Wine Check Luggage around for future trips to come. It’s reusable and collapses to fit into your suitcase. Ahhh, I can see many more wine bottles dancing in my dreams…

Giveaway
If you’d like to enter to win your very own Wine Check Luggage, please leave a comment below telling us about your favorite wine and when you like to enjoy it.
I’ll get the ball rolling here… My favorite wine is Rosé, which I love to drink in the summer on our terrace with a traditional French apéro – cheeses, charcuterie (salumi), olives, etc. Nothing better!
One winner will be chosen on Wednesday, December 17th (using random.org).
*Lazenne only ships within Europe, so a winner outside the continent will be given a voucher to have the Wine Check Luggage sent to their place of stay / hotel during their next trip to Europe.
Thank you for your participation and bonne chance!
What a clever idea! I’m with you, there is nothing better than a chilled rose on a hot summer day.

So fantastic! I’ve never heard of wine luggage, but it’s a brilliant idea. 🙂 My favorite wine right now is a good Merlot. We’ve had so much rain lately that it suits the dark skies and cool nights perfectly. 🙂
